Ancient city wall
A ring of walls with gates and a moat encloses the old town, forming a closed outline that is rare among China's large cities and instantly recognisable from above.

关于地图
Jingzhou Map Poster & Print
Jingzhou is one of the few Chinese cities whose historic walls still form an almost unbroken ring. The present walls largely date from the Ming and Qing dynasties and enclose an old town of straight streets. A moat circles them, and on a map it shows clearly as a band of water wrapped around the historic core.
The city lies on the north bank of the Yangtze, where the river swings through the plains of central Hubei, and levees and flood channels mark its southern edge. Jingzhou was a strategic prize during the Three Kingdoms period and appears often in the classic novel about that era. Nearby are the remains of Ji'nan, a capital of the ancient state of Chu.
A Jingzhou map poster centres on that walled shape, with the modern city spreading east and west along the river and new districts filling the flat land beyond. The contrast between the compact enclosed grid and the looser growth outside makes the plan read like a diagram of the city's long history, from fortress town to regional centre.

Yangtze north bank
The river passes south of the city in a broad curve, bordered by levees that hold back seasonal floods and give the map a heavy, sweeping lower edge.
Old town grid
Inside the walls, streets cross in a regular pattern around temples, a museum and quiet residential lanes, a small, legible world set apart from the wider city.

为什么选 Jingzhou
一张有意义的地图
For people from Jingzhou, the walls are the image of home, and a map shows them as few photographs can: whole and complete. The poster also suits readers of Romance of the Three Kingdoms or anyone who has walked the full circuit of the ramparts.
You can set the title in your own words, add a subtitle or a meaningful date and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles; Paper and Sand suit the old walls. Printed posters use matte paper and can be ordered with a wooden frame.
