Scattered farmsteads
Homes are spread across the fields instead of clustered in villages. On the poster, this creates an even pattern of small shapes across the open plain.

关于地图
Kanegasaki Map Poster & Print
Kanegasaki is a town in southern Iwate, set on the broad Isawa alluvial fan between Kitakami and Oshu. The land is almost flat, and from above it reads as a patchwork of rice fields with homesteads spread across them rather than packed into villages. This scattered pattern, with farmhouses surrounded by windbreak groves, is one of the defining landscapes of the area.
The historic core preserves a former samurai quarter, the Jonai Suwakoji district, recognised as a protected group of traditional buildings. Its streets keep an older layout of hedged lanes and residential plots, a small, orderly pattern within the wider rural grid.
A Kanegasaki map poster brings together two scales. There is the open agricultural plain, with its fields and dispersed farms, and the compact town centre with its older streets. The town is also home to a large automobile plant, and roads and rail lines cross the plain toward the Kitakami River valley.

Samurai quarter
The Jonai Suwakoji district keeps the layout of a former samurai residential area. Its narrow, hedged lanes form a tight grid in the town centre.
Isawa fan
The town sits on a wide, gently sloping alluvial fan. Streams and irrigation channels cross it, giving the map fine lines between the fields.

为什么选 Kanegasaki
一张有意义的地图
Kanegasaki is a place where rural life and history sit side by side. A map of it reflects a calm, orderly landscape, suited to a home office, a hallway or a gift for someone who grew up in Iwate.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the town's name in Japanese. Choose one of five styles, then download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
