Winding lanes
Roads curve to follow the terrain and property lines rather than any grid, giving the map an irregular, hand-drawn quality.

关于地图
Kīlattingal Map Poster & Print
Kīlattingal lies in Thiruvananthapuram district in southern Kerala, a short distance inland from the Arabian Sea coast. The map looks very different from a planned town. Roads follow the gentle rise and fall of the land and wind between homesteads. Houses are spread along the lanes rather than packed into blocks, a settlement pattern common across rural and semi-urban Kerala.
Water is never far off in this part of the state. Streams, ponds and low wet fields appear between the built-up strips, and the backwaters and sea lie a little further west. In black and white, the irregular lanes and scattered buildings form a loose, organic texture. There is no rigid grid anywhere in the frame.
A Kīlattingal map poster suits people from the area, especially Malayali families now living in the Gulf, Europe or elsewhere in India who want a picture of the lanes they grew up on. It shows the place accurately and plainly, from the main roads to the smaller paths between homes.

为什么选 Kīlattingal
一张有意义的地图
For Keralites living abroad, a map of their home village or town can mean more than a photograph. It shows how every lane and junction connects, the routes walked to school, temple, church or market.
Personalise the title with a family or house name, add a date in the subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper gives the lanes a soft, printed-page look.
