关于地图
Kogota-ekimae Map Poster & Print
Kogota-ekimae means the area in front of Kogota Station, in the town of Misato in Miyagi Prefecture. The station is a railway junction: the Tōhoku Main Line, the Ishinomaki Line and the Rikuu East Line all meet here. On the map, the tracks come in from several directions, and the small town fits into the angles between them.
The surrounding Ōsaki plain is among the major rice-growing areas of north-east Japan. Beyond the station district, the land is divided into flat, rectangular paddies crossed by irrigation channels and straight farm roads. Rivers wind across the plain, and settlements cluster on slightly higher ground.
A Kogota-ekimae map poster is a picture of a junction town: dense streets close to the platforms, rail lines fanning out, and a very regular agricultural landscape beyond. The contrast between curving tracks and square paddies makes a graphic, well-balanced composition that suits rail enthusiasts and people from Miyagi alike.

Station-front streets
A small, tight grid of streets sits right beside the station. It is the densest part of the map and the natural focal point.
Paddy geometry
Rice fields on the Ōsaki plain are laid out in regular rectangles. They give the outer edges of the print a crisp, repeating pattern.
