关于地图
Kottangara Map Poster & Print
Kottangara lies in Kollam district, in southern Kerala, a short distance inland from the city of Kollam. Like much of coastal Kerala, it does not have a sharp line between town and country. On the map, houses and lanes spread continuously through green land, and roads wind between plots rather than following a grid.
Kollam district is known for its backwaters, its long coastline and its history as a trading port. Settlements like Kottangara belong to the dense, semi-rural pattern typical of the region, where homes, small shops, places of worship and gardens are mixed closely together along a network of roads.
A Kottangara map poster shows this distinctive Kerala texture: a fine web of curving lanes with no obvious centre, filling the whole frame. It is quite unlike a planned city, and in black and white it has a delicate, almost hand-drawn quality that works well on a wall.

Continuous settlement
Houses spread along the roads without a clear town edge, which is typical of the semi-rural landscape of southern Kerala.
Near Kollam
Main roads link the area to the city of Kollam and the coast, and they run as slightly wider lines through the finer network.

为什么选 Kottangara
一张有意义的地图
Kottangara is hung by people from Kollam district and by Malayali families living in the Gulf, Europe or America. The fine web of lanes makes an intricate and personal poster.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are editable, so you can add a house name, a family name or a line in Malayalam. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
