The Laba River
The river runs past the town in several shifting channels with gravel bars and wooded banks. It forms the most expressive natural line on the map.

关于地图
Labinsk Map Poster & Print
Labinsk lies on the left bank of the Laba River in the south-east of Krasnodar Krai, where the Kuban plain starts to rise towards the Caucasus foothills. Seen from above, the river runs along the town's edge in a broad, braided channel lined with trees. The town itself is laid out as a fairly regular grid of long residential streets, with low houses and gardens filling each block.
The settlement began in 1841 as the Cossack stanitsa of Labinskaya, one of the fortified villages built along the Caucasian line. It became a town in 1947 and took its present name. The planned stanitsa layout, with straight streets and deep garden plots, can still be read clearly on the map, and it gives Labinsk a more orderly pattern than many hill towns further south.
A Labinsk map poster sets the rectangular street pattern against the loose, organic lines of the Laba and its wooded floodplain. The mix of geometry and river works well in monochrome. The grid gives the composition rhythm, and the water and fields around the edges soften it into open countryside.

Stanitsa street grid
Long, parallel streets crossed at regular intervals show the planned origins of the Cossack settlement. Each block is filled with houses and garden plots.
Foothill edges
To the south the land begins to rise towards the Caucasus. Field boundaries and country roads fan out from the town's edge in every direction.

为什么选 Labinsk
一张有意义的地图
A map of Labinsk suits anyone with roots in the Kuban or family ties to the old Cossack stanitsas. It turns a familiar grid of streets and a river into a restrained piece of graphic art that works in almost any interior.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed to mark a birthplace, a wedding date or a family surname. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room it will hang in.
