Lār Map Poster
Lār is the principal city of the Larestan region in the south of Fars province, set on a dry plain ringed by mountains. On the map it has two distinct parts: the old city, with its winding lanes and dense courtyard houses, and a newer town laid out to the side with straighter streets and wider blocks.
That division comes from the 1960 earthquake, which destroyed much of the old centre and led to the construction of a new town nearby. The Qeysarieh, a domed bazaar from the Safavid era, still stands as a reminder of Lār's long role as a stop on the trade routes to the Persian Gulf.
