关于地图
Lomonosov Map Poster & Print
Lomonosov sits on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, about forty kilometres west of central Saint Petersburg and directly opposite the island of Kronstadt. On the map the town is organised along a coastal railway and main road. A small grid of streets lies on one side, and the long green expanse of the Oranienbaum palace park rises gently from the shore on the other.
Until 1948 the town was called Oranienbaum, after the estate Prince Alexander Menshikov founded here in the early eighteenth century. His Grand Palace, and the Chinese Palace built later for Catherine the Great, belong to the UNESCO-listed ensemble around Saint Petersburg. The new name honours the scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, who ran a mosaic and glass works nearby.
A Lomonosov map poster captures the classic structure of a Baltic palace town: formal park avenues and ponds, a modest street grid, a harbour and the flat line of the gulf. During the Second World War this stretch of coast held out as the Oranienbaum bridgehead, and the landscape still feels like a place at the edge of the sea.

Gulf of Finland shore
The town meets the gulf along a flat, open shoreline. The harbour and piers give the edge of the poster a series of small, precise shapes.
View toward Kronstadt
Kronstadt lies across the water on Kotlin Island. The wide stretch of gulf between them gives the map a generous open field that balances the dense town.

为什么选 Lomonosov
一张有意义的地图
Lomonosov is a place of summer walks, school trips to the palaces and family dachas along the coast. A map of it suits anyone connected to Saint Petersburg's western shore, or anyone drawn to a quieter, lesser-known corner of the city's surroundings.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, with the old name Oranienbaum or a date that matters to you, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Files are $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
