Longshe Map Poster & Print
Longshe is a town in the southeastern part of Chongqing Municipality, in the rugged, forested hill country that stretches toward the Wuling Mountains. Flat land is scarce here, so the town follows the valley floor and the roads. From above it looks elongated, a narrow band of streets and buildings squeezed between slopes.
Southeastern Chongqing is known for its karst landscape, terraced fields and deep valleys, and settlements usually grow along rivers and main routes. The map around Longshe reflects that: winding roads clinging to hillsides, small clusters of houses on the slopes, and large areas of steep, undeveloped land.
A Longshe map poster is defined by terrain. The streets trace the valley and roads switch back up the hills, while the empty space around them shows how steep the land is. The result is an expressive, winding composition, very different from a lowland grid.
