Town grid
Straight streets and rectangular plots mark the centre. The pattern is easy to read and stands out clearly against the much looser shapes of the surrounding countryside.

关于地图
Lubao Map Poster & Print
Lubao is a town in Lomami province, in the south-central part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the seat of a territory of the same name. It lies far from the coast and from major cities, in a landscape of mixed savanna and forest where long unpaved roads link the settlements instead of dense networks.
On a map the town appears as a modest grid of streets and plots, with larger compounds and open spaces for administration, markets and schools. Beyond the edges, tracks spread out toward villages, and rivers and wooded valleys draining into the Congo basin give the surrounding land its lines.
A Lubao map poster works the way a good sketch does, keeping only what matters: the roads people walk and drive every day, the blocks where they live and the natural lines of the land around them. For a place that rarely appears on a poster, the plain rendering is a kind of recognition in itself.

Roads to the villages
Tracks leading out of town toward the wider territory form long lines across the sheet. They show Lubao's role as the local centre for a large rural area.
Rivers and valleys
Watercourses and wooded valleys around the town, part of the vast Congo river basin, add soft curving lines that contrast with the straight streets.

为什么选 Lubao
一张有意义的地图
People from Lubao who live in Kinshasa, elsewhere in Africa or abroad seldom see their town printed anywhere. A map gives it a place on the wall. It is a reminder of family and of streets known by heart, and a way to show others where they come from.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and the design comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files for $9 in six sizes, or order a matte printed poster with or without a wooden frame.
