Terai flatness
With no relief to work around, the streets extend in direct lines, and the town's outline is shaped by roads and fields rather than by terrain.

关于地图
Malaṅgawā Map Poster & Print
Malaṅgawā is the administrative centre of Sarlahi District in Nepal's Madhesh Province, set on the Terai plain a short distance from the border with India. The ground here is almost perfectly level, and the map shows it: roads run long and straight, the town grows outward in every direction, and there are no hills or ridges to bend its pattern.
As a district headquarters, the town gathers offices, markets and schools around its main streets, and these form the densest part of the drawing. Beyond them the built-up area gives way quickly to fields, with village roads and field boundaries carrying the lines of the town far out into the wide, flat countryside.
A Malaṅgawā map poster captures the particular geometry of the plains, where small rivers and streams wander across the landscape while the roads stay stubbornly direct. For people from Sarlahi living in Kathmandu, the Gulf or further away, it is a clear, calm picture of the place they still call home.

District centre
Government offices and markets cluster in the core, where the street network is densest and the map holds most of its fine detail.
Border proximity
The Indian frontier lies a short distance to the south, and the roads heading toward it give the lower part of the map a clear directional pull.

为什么选 Malaṅgawā
一张有意义的地图
This map belongs on the wall of anyone with ties to Sarlahi, especially those working far from home who want something quieter than a photograph. The plain lines of the Terai look particularly striking in black and white.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a wedding date, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in 30+ countries.
