Lualaba River
The upper Congo flows past the town in a wide, slow course. It is by far the strongest feature on the map, dividing the settlement from the wetlands opposite.

关于地图
Malemba-Nkulu Map Poster & Print
Malemba-Nkulu stands on the Lualaba River in Haut-Lomami province, in the southeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Lualaba is the upper course of the Congo River. Here it moves slowly through the Upemba depression, a broad low basin of marshes, lakes and floodplain that dominates any map of the area.
The town is a loose grid of streets beside the river, spreading back from the bank into scattered compounds and fields. Across the water, channels, oxbow lakes and seasonal wetlands break the land into irregular shapes. The map shows a strong contrast between the settlement's straight lines and the winding geometry of the river system.
Upemba National Park, one of the oldest protected areas in the country, lies in the wider region, and the river has long shaped local life through fishing and transport. A Malemba-Nkulu map poster centres on that relationship between town and river. It is a spare, graphic composition in which the water carries most of the visual weight.

Upemba floodplain
Marshes, side channels and small lakes spread across the low basin around the river. On a monochrome map they become an intricate pattern of curved shapes.
Riverside grid
The town's streets form a simple, fairly regular pattern next to the bank. This ordered block stands clearly apart from the natural shapes around it.

为什么选 Malemba-Nkulu
一张有意义的地图
A map of Malemba-Nkulu is unusual and personal: for people from Haut-Lomami it recalls a river town that few maps show in detail, and for others it is a striking study of water and land in the heart of Africa.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be edited to suit the occasion. Choose one of five styles, including the dark Noir or the warm Sand, and download 300 DPI files without watermark for $9 to print locally.
