Planned housing blocks
Residential quarters are laid out as large rectangular superblocks, with buildings arranged around shared courtyards rather than along a traditional street front.

关于地图
Metallostroy Map Poster & Print
Metallostroy is a settlement within the Kolpinsky District of St Petersburg, on the city's south-eastern fringe. From above it looks like many Soviet-era industrial suburbs: large rectangular housing blocks set back from wide roads, green courtyards between buildings, and extensive industrial land with rail sidings next to them. The Neva flows a short distance to the north.
The settlement developed around industry in the twentieth century, and its name, which refers to metal construction, reflects that origin. The map shows this clearly: the residential streets form a planned block pattern, while factory sites and rail tracks take up large, open areas with few internal lines, making a strong contrast in density.
A Metallostroy map poster captures that pairing of planned housing and industrial ground on the flat terrain of the Neva lowland. Pushed out to a wider view, the frame can take in the river and the edge of neighbouring Kolpino, placing the settlement within the larger outline of St Petersburg's southern outskirts.

Industrial rail land
Railway sidings and factory grounds cover wide areas beside the housing, drawn on the map as long parallel tracks and open, lightly marked plots.
Neva lowland setting
The land is flat and low, part of the plain around the Neva, so the map is shaped by roads, tracks and water rather than hills.

为什么选 Metallostroy
一张有意义的地图
Metallostroy is a place people know from daily life: the walk to the station, the courtyard below the window, the shift at the plant. A map of it is a plain, honest record of home on the edge of a great city.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed to add a street name, a year or a dedication. Pick one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a digital file or a printed poster.
