Irrigation ponds
Reservoirs and farm ponds, built long ago to water the paddy fields, sit among the houses as smooth open shapes. They form the lightest areas of the print.

关于地图
Morowa Map Poster & Print
Morowa lies in the gently rolling country east of Nagoya, in Aichi Prefecture, where the edge of the metropolitan area meets older farmland. From above, the pattern is mixed and quiet. Detached houses cluster along curving estate roads, narrow lanes follow old field boundaries, and patches of woodland remain on the higher ground. No single plan shaped the area, and that gives the map its loose, patchwork character.
Water shapes much of the picture. Like many places in this part of Aichi, the area is dotted with ponds and reservoirs built to irrigate paddy fields. On a black-and-white print they show up as smooth pale shapes among the finer texture of streets. Roads that link Nagoya with the towns further east run through the district and add a few firm lines to the softer residential pattern.
A Morowa map poster suits someone who knows the place at walking pace: the way to school, the shop on the corner, the pond at the end of the road. A commuter area like this rarely appears on tourist maps, which is part of its appeal. Framed, it reads less like a postcard and more like an abstract study of how a Japanese suburb grows into its landscape, one lot at a time.

Estate roads
Curving streets from newer housing developments contrast with older, straighter lanes that still trace the edges of former fields and give the map two distinct rhythms.
Wooded rises
Low hills kept as woodland break up the built area and show where the ground lifts slightly above the shallow valleys that hold the farmland.

为什么选 Morowa
一张有意义的地图
People choose this map because it marks an ordinary, specific place: a family home, a first apartment, a childhood spent between rice fields and quiet side streets. A neighbourhood like this means most to the people who lived there, which makes it a more personal gift than a famous skyline.
You can change the title, add a subtitle such as a family name or moving-in date, and edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital HD files cost $9 and cover six print sizes. You can also order a printed poster, framed if you like.
