Mougins Map Poster & Print
Mougins sits on a hill a few kilometres inland from Cannes, in the wooded country behind the Côte d'Azur. Its historic village makes one of the most distinctive shapes on any map of the region. The streets curl around the hilltop in concentric rings, like the inside of a shell, following the line of the old ramparts.
Around this core the wider commune spreads across hills and valleys in a looser pattern of winding roads, villas, gardens and pine woods, with major roads crossing its lower ground. Pablo Picasso spent the last years of his life in Mougins, and the village has long been associated with artists, photographers and fine dining.
A Mougins map poster puts the spiral of the old village at the centre, surrounded by the softer, branching lines of the hills. The result is an elegant, almost abstract image. The contrast between the tight circle at the top and the open landscape below gives the composition a natural focal point.
