The Lualaba
The upper Congo, known here as the Lualaba, is the strongest element in the frame, a wide ribbon that the town looks onto.

关于地图
Mulongo Map Poster & Print
Mulongo is a town in Haut-Lomami province in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It stands on the Lualaba, the long upper course of the Congo River, in a region of wide floodplains, lakes and marshes. Here the river is a working route for fishing and trade, and the town faces it.
From above, the water shapes everything. The Lualaba cuts a broad channel across the frame, with side channels and wetland edges on either bank, and the settlement follows the drier ground beside the river. Streets are few and simple compared with a city, and much of the poster is taken up by the flowing lines of water and the open country that surrounds it.
A Mulongo map poster suits anyone who knows this stretch of river, or who is drawn to places where geography matters more than architecture. Printed in black and white, the looping channels and the small street grid make a spare composition. The main river is the one fixed line, and the rest of the map organises itself around it.

Wetland margins
Braided channels and low marshy ground along the river leave soft, irregular outlines, in contrast with the few straight lines of the streets.
A compact river grid
The built-up area is small and sits close to the water, which gives the poster an open, quiet layout with plenty of space.
