关于地图
Nguigmi Map Poster & Print
Nguigmi is a town in the Diffa region in the far east of Niger, near the northern end of the Lake Chad basin. It once stood close to the lake's shore. As Lake Chad has shrunk dramatically since the 1960s, the water has pulled far back, and today the town is surrounded by dry former lakebed, dunes and Sahelian scrub.
On a map Nguigmi is a compact cluster of streets, mostly low and closely built. Sandy tracks spread out in several directions, and the land around it is almost blank. It is a place of wide horizons, and in black and white that emptiness becomes the strongest part of the design. The town reads as a small, dense mark in open space.
A Nguigmi map poster suits people from the town and the region, as well as those who have worked in eastern Niger. It is also a quiet way to remember a place that has lived through one of Africa's largest environmental changes.

Former lakeshore
The town once stood near the shore of Lake Chad, which has since retreated far to the south. The empty land around the town tells that story.
Tracks into the Sahel
Sandy tracks and roads leave the town in several directions. They are the main lines on an otherwise almost empty print.

为什么选 Nguigmi
一张有意义的地图
Nguigmi is far from most maps people buy, which is exactly why a print of it means so much to people who know it. It shows the town as its residents see it.
Write a title, add a subtitle with a name or date, and keep the coordinates line. Sand suits the Sahel landscape especially well. HD files cost $9 in six sizes, and printed posters are available too.
