Nidderau Map Poster & Print
Nidderau did not grow as one town. It was formed in 1970, when Windecken, Heldenbergen and several smaller neighbouring villages were merged into one municipality. From above you can still see this. Each old core keeps its own tight cluster of lanes, and open farmland and newer housing lie between them rather than one continuous centre.
The small river Nidder winds through the municipality from northeast to southwest. Its shallow valley holds the settlements together, and a railway line follows the low ground. On the Wetterau side, rectangular fields and field paths make a fine, regular pattern. Near the river the lines turn softer and bend with the water.
A Nidderau map poster shows a place where the edges matter as much as the centres. On paper, the gaps between the villages become a kind of composition, with dense knots of streets joined by thin roads across open land. It is a quiet part of Hesse northeast of Frankfurt, and the map shows its layout honestly.
