Mahendragiri hills
The steep ridge of the Western Ghats rises west of town, where the street pattern stops and the terrain takes over, giving the poster a firm edge.

关于地图
Pānakkudi Map Poster & Print
Pānakkudi is a town in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, close to the border with Kanyakumari district and only a short distance from the southern tip of the subcontinent. It sits on open plain at the foot of the Mahendragiri hills, among the final ridges of the Western Ghats, which rise sharply to the west and give the map a strong natural boundary.
The town has a compact centre of close-set streets, grown around the main road that runs through the area between Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari. Beyond it the land opens into farmland, dry scrub and irrigation tanks, the characteristic reservoirs of southern Tamil Nadu that appear as pale, rounded shapes on the map.
The foothills nearby host the ISRO Propulsion Complex at Mahendragiri, where rocket engines are tested, and this part of the south is one of India's windiest, lined with wind farms. A Pānakkudi map poster keeps the focus on the town itself, its tight core and the hills that close the view to the west.

Irrigation tanks
Rounded tanks and reservoirs dot the surrounding plain, soft pale shapes that interrupt the fields and lend the map a quiet, irregular rhythm.
