关于地图
Plato Map Poster & Print
Plato lies on the east bank of the Magdalena river, in the department of Magdalena, in the flat, hot lowlands of northern Colombia. The streets run back from the riverbank in a broad, fairly regular grid. On a map the Magdalena forms a wide, powerful edge along the western side of town.
The surrounding landscape is a maze of water. Ciénagas, the shallow lagoons of the Magdalena floodplain, spread around the town among marshes, channels and cattle pasture. On the poster they appear as large irregular shapes and fine meandering lines, which make the outer map looser and more organic than its orderly centre.
Plato is known across Colombia for the legend of the Hombre Caimán, the man who turned into an alligator, which the town celebrates with a yearly festival and a statue. A Plato map poster shows the real setting behind that story: a river town at home among lagoons and slow water.

Floodplain ciénagas
Shallow lagoons and wetlands surround the town. They draw large, irregular water shapes that give the outer map its character.
Riverside grid
The street grid extends inland from the water in straight, even blocks, a clear and simple structure at the centre of the composition.

为什么选 Plato
一张有意义的地图
For people from Plato and the Magdalena region, and for anyone who has travelled the river, the mix of wide water and open lagoons is familiar at once. The map keeps that landscape close, even far from the Caribbean lowlands.
Write your own title and subtitle, such as a family name or a date, and keep or edit the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. There is a free 900 px preview, and the $9 digital files include every print size.
