Branching lanes
Main roads split into smaller and smaller lanes that lead to individual houses, creating a network that looks almost like a leaf's veins on paper.

关于地图
Ponmundam Map Poster & Print
Ponmundam lies in Malappuram district in northern Kerala, not far from the town of Tirur. Like many places in this area, it isn't a town with a clear edge; on the map, it's a network of roads and lanes spread over gently rolling land, with houses along each path and fields in between. The pattern seems scattered at first, but it has a logic of its own.
The houses keep to the higher, drier land, and the lowest ground is used for paddy and wetlands. The roads follow this pattern, winding along the higher land and splitting into smaller lanes that lead to individual homes. On a black-and-white print, this becomes a delicate, branching network, with the empty low ground forming the spaces between.
A Ponmundam map poster shows this landscape in detail, without adding invented landmarks. It's a map for the people who live here and those who have left, whether for other parts of India or for work in the Gulf, and who know the exact path from the main road to the family home.

Houses on higher ground
Homes are spread along the raised land, so the built-up area follows the gentle hills rather than forming a compact centre.
Low paddy land
Fields and wetlands fill the lower ground between the lanes, leaving open spaces that give the dense linework a calm balance.
