Compact old core
At the centre, compound walls and short lanes pack together into a fine, irregular texture. This is the densest part of the map and the one that gives the town its recognisable outline.

关于地图
Rano Map Poster & Print
Rano lies south of Kano city in the flat savanna of northern Nigeria. From above it looks the way many Hausa towns do: a dense core of compound walls and narrow lanes, looser blocks toward the edges, and then a wide field pattern stretching in every direction. Roads leave the centre like spokes, linking the town to nearby settlements and markets.
The name carries weight in regional history. Rano is counted among the Hausa Bakwai, the seven original Hausa states of tradition, alongside Kano, Katsina, Daura, Zazzau, Gobir and Biram. Today it is again the seat of an emirate. The palace quarter is still the natural focal point of the town, and it is where the older street pattern is at its tightest.
A Rano map poster turns this layout into something quiet and graphic. Without colour, the contrast between the close-grained centre and the open fields becomes the whole story, and the roads read like threads drawn across paper. It suits anyone with family roots in Kano State, or anyone who finds meaning in the plan of an old town that has kept its shape.

Radiating roads
Routes leave Rano in several directions across the plain. They draw long, straight lines that connect it to Kano and to smaller villages scattered through the surrounding farmland.
Savanna field pattern
Beyond the built edge, the map opens into cultivated land and tracks. This pale ground frames the town and makes its dense centre stand out clearly.

为什么选 Rano
一张有意义的地图
For people from Rano, or whose parents and grandparents grew up there, a map is a way to keep home on the wall in a form that feels considered rather than sentimental. The title, subtitle and coordinates line can carry a family name, a date or simply the town's name.
Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The HD download costs $9 and includes six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF. You can also order a printed poster on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
