Colonial grid
The historic centre follows a regular pattern of square blocks around the main plaza. It forms a clear, orderly shape at the middle of the poster.

关于地图
Rionegro Map Poster & Print
Rionegro lies in the Valle de San Nicolás, on the high plateau east of Medellín, more than two thousand metres above sea level. The river that gives the town its name winds past the centre in loose curves. The historic core follows the regular grid of a Spanish colonial town, organised around a central square, and newer districts spread out from it into the green valley.
The town holds a notable place in Colombian history. General José María Córdova, a hero of the independence wars, was born here, and in 1863 the town hosted the convention that produced the Rionegro Constitution. Today it is also home to José María Córdova International Airport, which serves Medellín and much of Antioquia.
A Rionegro map poster sets the compact colonial blocks against the river's meanders and the long straight runway to the west. The old grid, the natural curves and the modern infrastructure each have a clear place in the drawing, which gives a town of this size an unusually varied map.

Río Negro
The river winds past the town in wide, irregular loops. Its curves contrast with the straight streets of the old centre and soften the whole composition.
The airport runway
West of the town, the runway of José María Córdova International Airport appears as a single long, straight line across the valley floor. It is the most geometric feature on the map.

为什么选 Rionegro
一张有意义的地图
Rionegro means different things to different people: a birthplace, a weekend retreat from Medellín, or the first place many travellers see in Antioquia. A map of its streets marks that connection in a way that is personal without being literal.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates to add a date, a name or a short phrase. Pick from five styles (Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand), then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster on matte paper.
