Tidal coastline
Creeks and mudflats break the shore into an irregular outline. On the poster the water is left open, so the edge of the land becomes the most expressive line in the design.

关于地图
Salāya Map Poster & Print
Salāya lies on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat, in Devbhumi Dwarka district, not far from Khambhalia and Jamnagar. The coast here is low and irregular, with tidal creeks and mudflats reaching into the land. From above, the town forms a compact cluster of streets set back from this shifting line between land and sea.
Salāya has long been known for its seafaring community and for building traditional wooden sailing vessels, which carried cargo across the Arabian Sea for generations. The streets are tight and irregular, as in many older Gujarati settlements. Roads lead inland across flat country toward the larger towns of the district.
A Salāya map poster sets the dense town against the wide pale space of the gulf. The coastline, with its creeks and inlets, gives the design a soft and unpredictable outline, while the streets inside it are drawn in fine, closely spaced lines. It is a map of a working coastal town rather than a resort.

Compact old town
The core of the town is a tight weave of narrow streets and lanes, typical of older coastal settlements in Gujarat and drawn in fine, closely spaced lines.
Roads inland
A few main roads run away from the coast across flat land. They connect Salāya with Khambhalia and the rest of the district and give the composition a clear axis.

为什么选 Salāya
一张有意义的地图
Salāya's families have long ties to the sea and to places far from Gujarat. A map of the home town makes a meaningful piece for relatives living abroad, a reminder of the lanes and the shore they know.
You can write your own title and subtitle, such as a family name and a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download high-resolution files or order a printed poster.
