Salt lake basin
The vast shallow lake fills much of the map with a single broad shape. That creates an unusually open, minimal composition that suits the Paper and Sand styles.

关于地图
Sāmbhar Map Poster & Print
Sāmbhar is a town west of Jaipur in Rajasthan, on the eastern shore of Sambhar Lake. From above, the lake dominates everything. It is India's largest inland salt lake, a broad shallow basin whose size shifts with the seasons. The town sits at its edge, a compact cluster of streets next to an enormous open expanse.
Salt has been produced here for centuries. Evaporation pans, embankments and channels along the shore create a grid of rectangular shapes, and a narrow-gauge rail line once served the salt works. The lake is also a Ramsar wetland of international importance, and in winter large numbers of flamingos and other migratory birds feed in its shallows.
A Sāmbhar map poster works because of this contrast. The old town has close lanes, temples and a bazaar, while beside it the lake is wide, flat and empty. The Shakambhari temple near the lake, dedicated to the goddess associated with the region, is an important pilgrimage site and adds one more reason people come here.

Evaporation pans
Rectangular salt pans and embankments line the shore in neat grids. Their geometry sits right against the soft natural edge of the lake.
Old town lanes
The compact town centre, with narrow streets around its temples and bazaar, forms a dense, detailed cluster beside the empty lake surface.

为什么选 Sāmbhar
一张有意义的地图
Sāmbhar draws birdwatchers, photographers and pilgrims, and it matters to families whose roots are in the salt trade. Its map is unusual: a small town set against a huge empty lake, which gives a spare, striking image on a wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps marking a winter visit or a family home. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. There is a free 900 px preview, and the full HD files cost $9.
