Edge of the Ghats
West of town, the land rises sharply into the Western Ghats. On the poster, the street network thins out quickly as it reaches the hills, which leaves a strong, quiet edge.

关于地图
Shenkottai Map Poster & Print
Shenkottai, also written Sengottai, lies in Tenkasi district in the far southwest of Tamil Nadu, right at the foot of the Western Ghats. The plains stop abruptly here. On the map, the town sits where flat farmland meets the steep forested ranges that separate Tamil Nadu from Kerala.
That position has always made Shenkottai a gateway. Roads and a railway line leave the town and climb through the ghats toward Kerala. The line toward Kollam, with its route through the hills, is well known in the region. The town itself is compact, with dense older streets around the centre and a more scattered pattern where it meets fields and irrigation channels.
A Shenkottai map poster shows the moment where two landscapes meet. The busy grid of the plains town sits on one side, and the transport lines thread their way into the mountains on the other. It is a map about a threshold as much as a town.

Rail toward Kerala
The railway leaves Shenkottai and winds through the ghats toward Kerala. Its line gives the map a long, purposeful curve that leads out of the dense town.
Compact old centre
The core of the town is a tight network of short streets and lanes. It forms the most detailed part of the composition, surrounded by fields and scattered settlement.

为什么选 Shenkottai
一张有意义的地图
Shenkottai is a crossing point, a place people pass through on the way to Kerala and a hometown for many who moved away. A map of its streets marks where the plains end and the hills begin.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, whether that is Sengottai, a family name or a date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
