Border road
The route toward the Habur crossing runs through the area as a strong main line, and much of the town's layout is organised around it.

关于地图
Silopi Map Poster & Print
Silopi lies in the far south-east of Turkey, in Şırnak province, on the flat plain close to the border with Iraq. From above it is a town of straight streets and fairly regular blocks. The layout is shaped more by roads and trade than by old walls, and it sits on open, low ground with mountains visible to the north.
The town is best known for its closeness to the Habur border gate, one of the main land crossings between Turkey and Iraq. Truck traffic and trade along that route have shaped its economy, as have coal and oil in the surrounding area. The main road toward the border forms the strongest line on the map, with the town grid built around it.
A Silopi map poster shows a young, practical street plan set against a wide stretch of open plain. It lacks the tangle of an old market town. Instead it has clear lines and broad blocks, and the black-and-white style suits this simple, orderly look.

Regular blocks
Straight streets and fairly even blocks give the town a clear, grid-like pattern, typical of places that grew quickly in recent decades.
Open plain
Around the built-up area, flat land stretches toward the border and rivers, so the town stands out as a compact shape on a wide background.
