Fort hill
The hill carrying Songadh Fort breaks the street pattern of the lower town, leaving an open patch where contour replaces lanes, a reminder of the Gaekwads' early years here.

关于地图
Songadh Map Poster & Print
Songadh lies in the Tapi district of southern Gujarat, close to the border with Maharashtra, where the coastal plain starts to rise into wooded hills. On a map the town reads as a tight knot of lanes around a market core, with a main highway passing through and smaller roads branching off toward villages and fields. It is a modest pattern, but a legible one, organised around movement and trade.
Above the town stand the remains of Songadh Fort, remembered as an early seat of the Gaekwad dynasty before its capital moved to Baroda. From above, the fort hill interrupts the street pattern: dense lower-town lanes simply stop where the slope begins. To the north, the Tapi River widens into the Ukai reservoir, a large irregular body of water that anchors the wider view.
A Songadh map poster works best when it holds both scales at once, the crowded centre and the looser rural roads fanning out through forest and farmland. In black and white, water, hill and road become quiet graphic shapes, and the town's position between two states and two landscapes becomes something you can read on the wall at a glance.

Ukai reservoir
North of town the Tapi River spreads into the Ukai reservoir, a broad, ragged shoreline that gives the map a strong area of open water.
Highway spine
A main road runs through Songadh and links it to the rest of Gujarat and to Maharashtra, with market streets and village roads branching away from it.
