Springe Map Poster
Springe is a town in Lower Saxony, southwest of Hanover, on the southern side of the Deister, a long forested ridge. On a map, the town has a compact medieval centre of short, curving streets. Newer residential districts spread outward from it, and the dark mass of forest sits immediately to the north.
The old town is known for its half-timbered houses. Nearby is the Saupark Springe, a large enclosed wildlife park with a former royal hunting lodge, which appears on the map as a broad green area crossed by only a few paths. Villages belonging to the municipality are scattered across the fields in the surrounding valleys.
