关于地图
Surgut Map Poster & Print
Surgut stands on the right bank of the Ob in western Siberia, in a landscape of rivers, lakes and marshland. The city is long and narrow, following the Ob and its side channels for many kilometres, and its districts are laid out in the large rectangular blocks typical of Soviet planning. Between them, lakes and wetlands leave irregular gaps in the grid.
Founded in 1594 as one of the first Russian fortresses in Siberia, Surgut stayed small until the oil discoveries of the 1960s transformed it. It is now one of the main centres of the Russian oil industry, and pipelines, industrial zones and power stations mark its edges. The city's thermal power stations are among the largest in the country.
South of the city, the Yugorsky Bridge carries road traffic across the Ob; when it opened in 2000, it had one of the longest spans of any single-pylon cable-stayed bridge in the world. The river here is wide and braided, with islands and channels. A Surgut map poster shows the city's long, orderly grid set against the river and the lakes of the surrounding taiga.

Ob River channels
The Ob divides into several branches around Surgut, creating a complex pattern of islands and waterways that contrasts with the regular blocks of the city.
Lakes in the grid
Small lakes and wetlands are scattered between the residential districts, breaking the rectangular street pattern with rounded shapes and open space.

为什么选 Surgut
一张有意义的地图
Surgut makes a strong print for people who have lived or worked in the northern oil towns, for families who moved here during the years of rapid growth and for anyone attached to Siberian landscapes. The river gives it a broad, dramatic setting.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a district, a year or a family name, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9 with no watermark, or order a printed poster with an optional frame.
