Waterfront grid
Behind the port, short streets form a compact grid that fills the heart of the map, the densest area of linework in an otherwise open composition.

关于地图
Surigao Map Poster & Print
Surigao City is the capital of Surigao del Norte, set on the northern tip of Mindanao where the land breaks into bays, channels and small islands. On a map the urban core hugs the waterfront. A compact grid of streets sits behind the port, and roads follow the coast before climbing into the green hills inland.
The city looks out over the Surigao Strait, the passage between Mindanao and Leyte where one of the last great naval battles of the Second World War was fought in October 1944. Today the strait is a busy shipping lane, and ferries from Surigao connect Mindanao with the Visayas and with Siargao, the surfing island to the east.
Because water frames almost every edge, the city has a strong silhouette. A Surigao map poster draws the shoreline as one clean line. The harbour, the islands just offshore and the tight street pattern of the centre give the composition its detail, and the wide empty space of the sea balances it.

Surigao Strait
The strait between Mindanao and Leyte appears as a broad band of open water, a busy shipping route and the site of a major 1944 naval battle.
Offshore islands
Small islands sit just off the city, their outlines adding scattered shapes to the sea and hinting at the island-hopping routes toward Siargao and beyond.

为什么选 Surigao
一张有意义的地图
Surigao is a place of arrivals and departures. That makes it meaningful for islanders, for travellers who passed through on their way to Siargao and for families with roots in Caraga. The map captures that sense of a threshold between land and sea.
Personalise the title and coordinates to mark a trip or a hometown, and pick one of five styles, from Noir to Sand. The $9 digital download includes 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in six sizes, with no watermark.
