Twin town border
Tabatinga's streets run directly into those of Leticia in Colombia, with no natural barrier between them, making the international border almost invisible on the map.

关于地图
Tabatinga Map Poster & Print
Tabatinga lies on the northern bank of the Solimões, as the Amazon is known in this part of Brazil, at the point where Brazil, Colombia and Peru meet. On the map, the most striking thing is that there is no visible break between Tabatinga and the Colombian town of Leticia next to it. The street grids simply continue into each other across the border.
The river forms the southern edge of the town and is its main connection to the outside world. Boats run downstream towards Manaus, and across the water lie river islands and the Peruvian settlement of Santa Rosa. Tabatinga's airport sits within the town, its runway one of the few long straight lines in a landscape otherwise bounded by forest.
A Tabatinga map poster shows a place defined by a border and a river: two towns joined into one urban area, the broad water of the Amazon and the forest closing in on all sides. It is a compact, meaningful map, especially for anyone who has crossed the triple frontier or started a journey on the river here.

The Solimões
The Amazon, here called the Solimões, runs along the southern edge with islands mid-channel. Its width dwarfs the town and sets the scale of the whole poster.
Airport runway
The airport sits inside the urban area, and its runway forms a long straight stroke across the map, a reminder of how remote the town is by road.
