Curving streets
Residential roads follow the hillside contours in smooth loops, giving the map a flowing pattern very different from the strict grids of older Japanese towns.

关于地图
Takatsukadai Map Poster & Print
Takatsukadai is a residential area in Nara Prefecture, on the western side of the Nara Basin. Like many suburban districts in the region, it was developed as a planned neighbourhood on higher ground, offering homes within commuting distance of Osaka and Nara city.
From above, the street pattern is quite different from the old farm villages of the basin floor. Roads curve smoothly with the contours of the hills, forming loops and cul-de-sacs lined with closely spaced houses. Parks, school grounds and patches of woodland break up the housing, and main roads link the area to rail stations and neighbouring towns.
A Takatsukadai map poster highlights that designed quality: rounded blocks, carefully spaced streets and green pockets throughout. In black and white, the composition becomes almost like a drawing of contour lines, a quiet and orderly picture of Japanese suburban life.

Green pockets
Parks, schoolyards and remaining woodland sit among the housing, appearing as open spaces that break up the dense residential texture.
Basin edge
The district rises above the Nara Basin, and the map shows how development climbed the higher ground away from the flatter farmland below.

为什么选 Takatsukadai
一张有意义的地图
Takatsukadai is where many families have raised children and built everyday routines. A map of its streets is a personal, understated keepsake, suited to anyone who lived there or still does.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, with a family name or moving-in date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters are available too.
