Tanabe Bay
The bay's irregular shoreline, with small inlets, harbour structures and headlands, gives the poster a long and intricate coastal edge that balances the streets of the centre.

关于地图
Tanabe Map Poster & Print
Tanabe sits on the western coast of the Kii Peninsula in Wakayama Prefecture, where a river valley opens onto Tanabe Bay. The central district is a compact grid of streets on the low ground near the harbour, with forested hills rising quickly behind it. On a map the coastline, with its inlets and small headlands, is as prominent as the town itself.
The city is a traditional gateway to the Kumano Kodo, the ancient pilgrimage routes to the Kumano shrines. The Nakahechi route sets out into the mountains from the Tanabe area. Tanabe is also the birthplace of Morihei Ueshiba, founder of aikido, and was home to the naturalist Minakata Kumagusu. The surrounding hills are known for their plum orchards.
A Tanabe map poster frames a city between sea and mountains: the dense centre by the harbour, the curving shoreline of the bay, and the few roads threading inland through narrow valleys. It is a fitting keepsake for pilgrims who began the Kumano Kodo here, for aikido practitioners, and for anyone who knows this stretch of the Wakayama coast.

Harbour-side centre
The main district forms a compact grid on flat land close to the water, pressed between the bay and the hills. It is the densest area of fine line on the map.
Valleys toward Kumano
Roads and rivers lead inland through narrow valleys, the direction pilgrims take toward the Kumano shrines. Here the map thins into steep, forested ground.

为什么选 Tanabe
一张有意义的地图
For pilgrims, the Kumano Kodo often begins with a night in Tanabe, and a map of the town recalls the start of a long walk. Set the title and subtitle, perhaps with the dates of your journey, and adjust the coordinates line.
Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. For $9 you receive six print sizes, each a 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF without watermark, and there is a free 900 px preview first. Printed matte posters, optionally framed, are also available.
