Tandil Map Poster & Print
Tandil stands in the south of Buenos Aires province, where the flat pampas are interrupted by the ancient, rounded hills of the Tandilia range. Founded in 1823 as a frontier fort, it grew into a regular grid that fills the valley between the hills, with parks, stone outcrops and the Lago del Fuerte marking its southern side.
The city is famous for the Piedra Movediza, a large balancing rock that rested on the edge of a hill until it fell in 1912; a replica was installed in 2007. Tandil is also known across Argentina for its cheeses and cured meats, and for weekend visitors drawn by walking trails and views over the pampas.
A Tandil map poster shows the tension between order and landscape: the straight blocks of the centre pressing against curving roads that follow the slopes of the hills. The lake adds a quiet, open form to the composition, making it one of the more characterful city maps from the province.
