Suburban estates
Housing developments from different decades sit side by side, each with its own looping streets. They give the print a set of distinct textures rather than one uniform grid.

关于地图
Tomiya Map Poster & Print
Tomiya sits directly north of Sendai, and on a map the two run together along the main roads that link them. What sets Tomiya apart from above is the pattern of its housing estates. Loops and cul-de-sacs are laid over gently rolling ground, separated by strips of woodland and farmland that have not yet been built on. The result is a patchwork of dense clusters and open space.
For many years Tomiya was one of the most populous towns in Japan, and it grew steadily as commuters moved out from Sendai. It became a city in 2016, a formal change that followed decades of growth already visible in its street plan. Newer neighbourhoods show the curving, self-contained layouts typical of suburban development, while older roads follow the valley floors.
Rendered in black and white, a Tomiya map poster reads almost like a study in contrasts. Finely drawn residential streets sit against blank rural ground, and the main roads towards Sendai run through the middle like a spine. It is a map of a place still taking shape, which gives it an unfinished, honest quality on a wall.

Link to Sendai
Main roads run south towards central Sendai, and on the map the boundary between the two cities is barely visible, a reminder of how closely they grew together.
Green margins
Pockets of woodland and farmland separate the built-up areas. They leave open white space that gives the composition room to breathe and marks the edges of each neighbourhood.

为什么选 Tomiya
一张有意义的地图
A Tomiya poster makes sense for families who moved into one of its newer districts, or for anyone who commutes into Sendai and thinks of Tomiya as home. The map captures a recent chapter in the place's growth, a detail that means more to residents than any tourist image could.
Personalise the title with your street or neighbourhood, add a subtitle or the year you arrived, and pick the style that suits the room, from Blueprint to Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the framing before you buy the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
