Malagarasi River
The river loops through the landscape near town, one of the longest in Tanzania. Its meanders and side channels make the most expressive lines on the map, set against the plain woodland around them.

关于地图
Uvinza Map Poster & Print
Uvinza sits in the Kigoma Region of western Tanzania, where the Malagarasi River winds through miombo woodland on its way to Lake Tanganyika. From above, the town is a modest cluster of streets and plots. Tracks and field boundaries fan out from it, and the river's long meanders give the landscape its direction.
The town has long been known for salt. Brine springs near the river have been worked for generations, and Uvinza salt was once traded far across the region. The railway that crosses western Tanzania towards Kigoma also passes through, and its steady line cuts across the map, a clear contrast to the looser pattern of roads and paths around it.
A Uvinza map poster shows that balance between a compact settlement and the open country around it. In black and white, the river curves, the rail line and the thin local roads read clearly. The empty space around the town is part of the picture too, and it gives the print a calm, spacious feel on the wall.

Salt springs
Uvinza's name has long been tied to salt from local brine springs. The works lie close to the river, part of what first drew people to this bend of the valley.
Railway line
The central railway towards Kigoma runs through the area in one long, steady stroke. Next to the softer local tracks, it gives the composition a firm structural line.
