Vallauris Map Poster & Print
Vallauris sits in the hills just west of Antibes, and from above it reads as two places joined by a valley road. The old town gathers on high ground inland, its streets twisting along the slopes, while Golfe-Juan spreads along the coast below, with a harbour and a straight beachfront facing the bay.
The town is known for ceramics. Potters have worked its clay for centuries, and after the Second World War Pablo Picasso lived and worked here, making pottery and leaving behind the War and Peace murals in the castle chapel. Golfe-Juan has a different claim to fame: Napoleon came ashore there in 1815 after leaving Elba.
A Vallauris map poster shows this split clearly. Dense, winding lanes sit at the top of the sheet, looser suburban loops and villa roads fill the hillsides, and the coast runs along the bottom edge with the port jutting out into open water. Printed in black and white, the contrast between the steep hills and the flat shoreline is easy to see.
