关于地图
Valparai Map Poster & Print
Valparai lies high in the Anamalai Hills of the Western Ghats, in western Tamil Nadu. It is less a single town than a plateau of tea estates, with a small central town and many estate settlements scattered across the hills. From above, the map is a web of winding roads that follow ridges and contours, with forest and plantation filling the space between them.
The road up from the plains at Aliyar climbs through a long series of hairpin bends, one of the best-known drives in South India. On the map, those bends appear as tight zigzags. Reservoirs such as Sholayar sit in the surrounding valleys, and the Anamalai Tiger Reserve covers much of the land around the plateau.
A Valparai map poster is almost entirely about terrain. There is no grid, only roads that bend with the land, estate lines, water and forest. The central town appears as a small dense cluster in a large green landscape. In black and white the curving roads become fine, flowing lines, and the whole image reads like a contour drawing.

Tea estates
Plantations cover the plateau, linked by small estate roads. Their layout creates a loose network of lines across the hills.
Valley reservoirs
Reservoirs lie in the valleys around the plateau. Their irregular shapes are the largest open areas in an otherwise wooded map.
