Orchard patchwork
Long, narrow fields divided by irrigation channels surround the town. On the poster they form a fine, parallel pattern that extends the street grid across the valley.

关于地图
Villa Regina Map Poster & Print
Villa Regina is in the Alto Valle of Río Negro province in Argentine Patagonia. It was founded in the 1920s by Italian settlers and named after Regina Pacini, the opera singer who was married to President Marcelo T. de Alvear. The valley around it is known for apples and pears grown with water drawn from the river.
From above, the town is a regular grid. Irrigation canals and field boundaries continue that grid outward, so the orchards form a patchwork of long, narrow rectangles. North of the valley, the dry Patagonian plateau rises in a sharp line. To the south, the Río Negro winds through a wide, green floodplain.
A Villa Regina map poster shows three bands in one frame: the dry plateau, the planted valley and the river. The town sits in the middle, a tidy grid that reflects both how it was planned and how the land is farmed.

The Río Negro
South of town the river winds through braided channels and islands. Its loose, looping shape softens the straight lines of the farmland.
Plateau escarpment
The edge of the plateau marks the northern boundary of the valley. Above it the land is almost empty, which gives the map a clean upper border.
