Volga embankment
The wide river runs along the eastern edge of the whole city. Islands and side channels on the far bank give the map a layered, detailed shoreline.

关于地图
Volgograd Map Poster & Print
Volgograd is one of the longest cities in Europe. It stretches for roughly 80 kilometres along the western bank of the Volga but is rarely more than a few kilometres deep. On the map it reads as a long ribbon of districts following the river, with the wide Volga, its islands and side channels on one side and the open steppe on the other.
Near the centre rises Mamayev Kurgan, the hill where the memorial to the Battle of Stalingrad stands, crowned by the statue The Motherland Calls. Streets and ravines run down to the river at intervals, dividing the city into segments. In the south, the Volga–Don Canal begins its route west, and in the north the dam of the Volga Hydroelectric Station crosses to the town of Volzhsky.
The city was almost completely destroyed in 1942 and 1943 and rebuilt afterwards with broad avenues and embankments, including a long riverside promenade in the centre. A Volgograd map poster can follow the river's long sweep through several districts or focus on the centre, between the memorial hill and the embankment.

Mamayev Kurgan
The memorial hill stands above the central districts, its park and paths forming an open space among the surrounding streets.
Ravines
Deep gullies, known locally as balkas, cut down towards the river and split the city into sections. On the poster they appear as breaks in the street pattern.

为什么选 Volgograd
一张有意义的地图
Volgograd means a great deal to families whose history is tied to the city and its wartime past, and to people who grew up along its embankments. The long riverside shape is unusual and immediately recognisable.
Choose your own title, add a subtitle such as a family date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. The styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Files come in six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF.
