关于地图
Xinyang Map Poster & Print
Xinyang sits at the southern edge of Henan, where the North China Plain begins to break into the hills that separate it from Hubei. The city follows the Shihe, a tributary of the Huai River, which curves through the urban area from west to east. On a map the river is the organising line, with neighbourhoods arranged on both banks and bridges stitching them together.
The surrounding land shapes the city more than in most places in the province. Hills close in to the south and west, and the street pattern bends and narrows to fit the valleys. Upstream lies Nanwan Lake, a large reservoir with an intricate, finger-like shoreline and many small islands, visible as a bold shape at the western edge of a wider map.
Xinyang is best known in China for Maojian green tea, grown on the slopes around the city. Jigongshan, a mountain resort with early twentieth-century villas, lies to the south. A Xinyang map poster traces the transition from a compact river town to its newer districts, where wider roads and larger blocks spread across the flatter land to the north and east.

Nanwan Lake
A large reservoir upstream on the Shihe with a highly irregular shoreline and scattered islands, one of the most distinctive shapes in the landscape around Xinyang.
Hillside edges
To the south and west the streets thin out against wooded, tea-growing hills, giving the edges of the map a softer and less regular outline than the plain.

为什么选 Xinyang
一张有意义的地图
Xinyang is a meaningful place for people who grew up among its tea hills or left for work in larger cities. The river and the hills give its map an organic, flowing structure that feels quite different from the strict grids of many Chinese cities.
Personalise the poster with a title, a subtitle such as a year or a dedication, and a coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order either the $9 digital files or a printed poster.
