Valley-floor town
The built-up area follows the level ground along the valley. That gives it a stretched, linear shape that stands out clearly against the empty hillsides.

关于地图
Zhen’an Map Poster & Print
Zhen’an is a small town in the mountainous north-east of Chongqing municipality, in the wider region drained by the Yangtze and its tributaries. The terrain determines almost everything. Buildings and roads collect in the narrow valley floors, and the surrounding slopes rise sharply, so the settlement looks long and thin rather than round.
Roads enter and leave through valleys, sometimes following a stream and sometimes zigzagging up a hillside. Terraced fields cover the gentler slopes beyond the town. From above, the pattern is a tight ribbon of development with a fine web of rural tracks spreading into the hills.
A Zhen’an map poster records this clearly: a narrow, dense town line, winding approach roads and a lot of mountainous emptiness. It gives an honest picture of how life in this part of Chongqing adapts to very little flat ground.

Switchback approaches
Roads climbing out of the valley loop back and forth across the slopes. They become some of the most expressive lines on the poster.
Hillside tracks
Small paths and farm roads branch across the surrounding hills. Their fine, irregular pattern hints at the terraced farmland without showing any shading.
