关于地图
Zima Map Poster & Print
Zima is a town in Irkutsk Oblast, on the Oka River, a tributary of the Angara, several hundred kilometres northwest of Irkutsk. Its growth is tied to the Trans-Siberian Railway, which runs through the town, and it has long served as a stop and work centre on the line. Zima is also known as the hometown of the poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko, whose poem about Zima Junction made its name familiar.
On the map the railway is the backbone. Tracks and yards run through the town in a long, straight corridor, and streets are laid out on either side in fairly regular blocks. The Oka flows nearby in wide bends, with floodplain and islands along its course. Beyond the town, the land opens into Siberian forest and fields, crossed only by a few roads.
A Zima map poster shows a town organised around a railway and a river. In black and white, the straight tracks and the curving river make a striking pair of lines, and the streets fill the ground between them. It is a quiet image of a Siberian town with a surprisingly notable place in Russian literature.

Oka River
The Oka runs past Zima in broad meanders with islands and floodplain, which gives the poster a soft, flowing counterpoint to the tracks.
Taiga edge
Around the town the settled area gives way to open Siberian landscape. The streets end fairly abruptly and the edges of the map are sparse.

为什么选 Zima
一张有意义的地图
A map of Zima means something to families from the town, to railway workers and to readers of Yevtushenko. It is a subtle, thoughtful piece for a study or bookshelf wall, or a gift for someone whose roots are in Siberia.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, for example with a line of poetry or a meaningful date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
