The Ubangi river
A wide river forms Zongo's northern edge and the national border. It takes up a large, calm share of the map and gives the composition its scale.

关于地图
Zongo Map Poster & Print
Zongo stands on the south bank of the Ubangi river, in the far north of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, lies directly across the water. The map therefore shows two towns separated only by the river, one of the more unusual border settings in Central Africa.
The Ubangi is the dominant shape on the poster, a broad band along the edge of town, with rocks and rapids breaking the surface near this point. Zongo's streets run back from the bank in a loose, low-density pattern, and tracks lead south and east into farmland and forest. Boats crossing the river connect the two sides.
A Zongo map poster frames a place defined by the water and by the city opposite. It is a simple, spacious composition in which the river does most of the work and the town appears as a fine network along the shore. Printed large, the contrast between the open band of water and the lines of the streets carries the whole design.

Bangui opposite
Depending on the framing, the edge of Bangui appears on the far bank, so the poster can show two border towns facing each other across the water.
Riverside streets
Zongo's streets run back from the bank in an open, informal grid. Tracks leave toward the interior of Sud-Ubangi.

为什么选 Zongo
一张有意义的地图
For people from Zongo or Bangui, and for anyone who has worked in the region, the river crossing is the defining image. A map shows it as it really is: two towns facing each other across moving water.
Add a family name or a date to the title, write your own subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint and Noir make the broad river especially striking.
