Bantul Map Poster & Print
Bantul is the seat of Bantul Regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, on the flat, fertile ground that lies between the city of Yogyakarta and the south coast of Java. On a map, the town is a modest cluster of streets surrounded by villages and an intricate pattern of rice fields and irrigation channels.
The regency is known for its craft villages, including the pottery centre of Kasongan, and for the beaches of the south coast, among them Parangtritis. Bantul was also severely affected by the 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake, and much of the area was rebuilt in the following years.
A Bantul map poster shows how closely the town is tied to the land around it. The central streets give way almost immediately to villages and fields, creating a fine, detailed texture that gives the composition a quiet, rural character.

Rice fields
Paddies and irrigation channels surround the town, forming a fine patchwork of plots that fills much of the sheet.
Roads to Yogyakarta
Main roads run north toward the city and south toward the coast, long lines that tie the town into the wider region.
