Druzhba lies in the Xorazm Region of western Uzbekistan, in the irrigated oasis along the lower Amu Darya. The land is flat, and everything on the map depends on water: a close network of canals and ditches branches off from the river system, dividing the country into fields and supplying the settlements along it.
The town itself is a compact grid of streets and houses, with roads leading to neighbouring villages and to the larger towns of the region. Khorezm has been an oasis civilisation for millennia, and the pattern of canals and small farms around Druzhba continues that long tradition of irrigated agriculture at the edge of the desert.
