Airport runway
The runway of Amílcar Cabral International Airport runs just beside the town. This long straight line anchors the composition and explains much of Espargos's growth.

Espargos Map Poster & Print
Espargos is the main town of Sal, one of the Barlavento islands of Cabo Verde. Sal is low and arid, with very little relief, and from above the town looks like a compact cluster of streets on open, pale ground. The most prominent shape nearby is the long runway of Amílcar Cabral International Airport, which for decades made Sal the main entry point to the archipelago.
The town grew alongside the airport, and its layout is practical rather than ceremonial. There is a central area of short blocks, newer neighbourhoods spreading outward, and roads leading west to Palmeira and south to Santa Maria and its beaches. East of town lie the salt pans of Pedra de Lume, set inside an old volcanic crater, which gave the island its name.
An Espargos map poster captures the geometry of a desert island town, where the built-up area ends sharply and empty land takes over. In a minimal print the runway reads as a single bold stroke and the streets as a dense knot. The surrounding island becomes a wide field of quiet space.

Compact centre
Short blocks and narrow streets form a dense core. Newer residential areas surround it and thin out as they meet the open, stony ground.
Roads to the coast
Main roads leave town toward the harbour at Palmeira and the resort town of Santa Maria. A few lines are enough to draw the island's whole framework.

Many visitors first set foot in Cabo Verde here, and many islanders call Espargos home. A map of the town is a reminder of arrival, of work, or of a family base on an island shaped by wind, salt and sea.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a travel date and your own coordinates line, then choose from five styles. Sand and Paper suit the island's pale tones, while Noir gives the runway extra contrast. HD files cost $9 and cover six print sizes.
