The Thatta highway
The national highway passes through Gharo as a strong, continuous line, and the town has grown along it. It is the most readable element on the map.

Gharo Map Poster & Print
Gharo lies in Sindh, east of Karachi, on the highway to Thatta. On a map the road is its main axis, with the town's streets and market arranged along it. To the south, the land becomes flat and low, and tidal creeks reach inland from the Arabian Sea through the western edge of the Indus delta.
The area is known as the Gharo wind corridor, where steady coastal winds made it one of Pakistan's main sites for wind farms. Nearby, beside Gharo Creek, are the ruins of Banbhore, an old port settlement that archaeologists have studied for decades.
A Gharo map poster shows a small town between a highway and the sea. The branching creeks and salt flats give the lower part of the sheet a fine, delta-like texture, and the road holds the composition together.

Tidal creeks
South of town, creeks branch through low, flat land toward the sea. Their fine branching lines are characteristic of the Indus delta margin.
Banbhore nearby
The archaeological site of Banbhore sits by Gharo Creek, not far from the town, a reminder that this coast has been a place of trade for a very long time.
