Inzai lies in northern Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. The map shows a mix of planned and rural landscapes. The Chiba New Town area forms a band of curving residential roads, parks and large blocks along the Hokuso rail line, while rice fields, woodland and the wide marshy shores of Lake Inba occupy much of the north.
Inzai has repeatedly topped national rankings for liveability in Japan, thanks to its spacious housing and good rail links. It has also become known as a location for large data centres, drawn by its stable ground and proximity to Tokyo.
